Drywall and paint are the largest visible surfaces in any renovation. A bad tape job shows through paint. Inconsistent sheen reads as sloppy. Uneven roller work is visible in raking light. Our crews treat every wall as something that will be scrutinized — because it will be.
We perform the full sequence: metal and wood stud framing, drywall hang, tape and bed, skim coat when specified, and interior paint from prime through finish coats. We work as a trade partner for GC projects and take direct client projects across Chicago and the suburbs.
Our work is coordinated with trim and flooring to sequence properly. Paint goes on after trim is caulked. No shortcuts that create callbacks.

Our Process
Prep & Protection
Floors, trim, and fixtures are masked and protected before any work begins. Adjacent rooms are sealed with dust barriers for renovation scopes.
Framing & Board
Framing is level and square. Drywall is hung tight to the framing with proper fastener spacing and backing at all joints.
Tape & Finish
Three-coat tape and bed on all joints and corners. Skim coat applied when a smooth Level 5 finish is specified. Sanded flat before paint.
Paint
Prime coat followed by two finish coats minimum. Consistent sheen, clean cut lines, no roller lap marks. Final inspection with client before sign-off.

Frequently
Asked Questions
Most clients have the same questions before starting. Here are straightforward answers — no hedging.
Still have questions? Let's talkA skim coat is a thin finish plaster applied over existing walls or new drywall to create a perfectly smooth Level 5 surface. It is specified when existing walls have texture that needs to be removed, when plaster repairs need to blend seamlessly, or when a high-sheen paint finish will be used. Many Chicago vintage homes have plaster walls that benefit from skim coat repair rather than full drywall replacement.
